The Signature Premier Kolkata Fashion Week reached a crescendo on its opening day with Abhishek Dutta's closing show at Priya cinema. It truly seemed to be the play ground of the 'Bold and the Beautiful'. 'Fashion for the Bold, by the Bold.'
The show had a lot firsts, with a movie theatre and a make-shift ramp for starters and live music by the band Zoo to a thoughtfully crafted visual presentation. We asked Abhishek Dutta about the inspiration behind his collection and according to him, the mood-board was dictated by "Tangram, a Chinese puzzle with hypnotic triangles". This collection represented "something very grungy yet modern" and he talked about his aim to "reach out to a wider audience in Kolkata" even though his kind of fashion had not yet spilled over to the mass. Abhishek Dutta perfectly portrayed the true spirits of 'Only the Bold Stand out' .
Going with the Eco-friendly theme of the Fashion week, the collection stood out for sheer simplicity and clean lines along with innovative eye masks for female models. Noted actors Rituparna Sengupta, Indraneil Sengupta and Saheb Bhattacharya walked the ramp along with Arijit Dutta, M.D. of Priya Entertainments.

Arijit Dutta told us how the collection reminded him of certain unsung elements of Kolkata. According to him, this venture was one of many for Priya including music releases and other related events. He picked comfort as key for Abhishek's creations. Indraneil on the other hand, termed the collection as "very wearable" while Rituparna talked of how Abhishek managed to remain "innovative and unique as a designer" and how it was sheer pleasure to walk for him.
