Signature Premier Kolkata Fashion Week 2012- Finale with Manoviraj Khosla

The last few days have been filled with fun, frolic and fashion, as Signature Premier Kolkata Fashion Week 2012 swept into its fourth and final day, to end with a BANG!

The Grand Finale with Manoviraj Khosla!

The final day had world famous and greatly loved designer Mr. Manoviraj Khosla displaying his superb collection which tells people "how to have fun" according to him. The wardrobe had elegant dresses, tops, shorts, shirts and jackets displayed by a retinue of female as well as male models. We could not help but notice the bright hues and geometric prints on these garments. They were a fine blend of erstwhile tradition and modern elements and as Mr. Khosla aptly put it, "makes you feel nice and young".

How to wear it right....

The Signature Premier Kolkata Fashion Week laid a foundation for the city's fashion scene. We asked Mr. Khosla about his views on Kolkata's fashion scenario. According to him, the city is home to some of the "best craftsmen" and quite a few of the  "fine designers" of the world, like Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Anamika Khanna, Mona Pali, and the list goes on.... Finally,  we quizzed him on his Kolkata connect and it turned out a strong one and how! "I love Kolkata" he said, as "I'm born and brought up in this city". After studying till class 6 in one of the elite Kolkata schools, he left for Dehradun, only to come back for his graduation- just prior to moving to London to pursue his career in designing. The city of joy therefore holds a special place in his heart, one that keeps him coming again and again.

The bartenders at the Aqua, Park Hotel, stirred up some of their best concoctions, as guests drank and celebrated the success of the Signature Premier Kolkata Fashion Week 2012. Like all of them, we too hope for another such soul-stirring event soon.
