When it comes to scotch whisky, Black Dog is truly the king. Foe more than a century now, the brand has perfected the art of brewing and aging whisky, to bring to us one of the finest drinks Scotland has to offer. Now, let me ask you a question. How would you like your glass of Black Dog? Would you like
it on the rocks, or with soda or water? Or would you like to whip up a nice
glass of Rabbie Burns? Oh no! I do not mean the famous Scottish poet. Actually,
I do mean him, but in a different sense. Rabbie Burns is a scotch based cocktail named
after the ‘Plowman Poet’. In a previous
blog, we spoke of the great poet’s love for scotch, but today let me provide you
with the recipe of the wonderful cocktail, honouring him. It is one of my personal favourites. Here is how you go
about it-
Ingredients (For 2 servings)-
- 3 oz. Black Dog Scotch
- A dash of orange bitter
- A dash of absinthe
- 1.5 oz. sweet vermouth
- A few pieces of orange peel
- A few chunks of ice
Method-
- Rub the orange peel along the rim of a cocktail glass.
- Pour in the above ingredients (except the orange peel), and stir well.
- Garnish with orange peel (you can cut them out in ribbon-like shapes).
Why not liven up your cocktail party with a glass of tart
and delicious Rabbie Burns! Everyone is sure to love it!
